As we approach Labor Day, we asked Satomi Rash-Zeigler, managing director at San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council, about her connection to labor and the impact employment has on families. Here she tells us her own family’s experience and what we can do to support workers.

San Diego’s labor market made further strides in July after correcting for summer’s typical volatility. Adjusting for those distortions, the region added more jobs and the unemployment rate moved lower.

After closing per COVID-19’s safety measures and orders, our career centers will open their doors to welcome San Diego job seekers with job search and career development resources to help them secure quality jobs as the region recovers.
