Jessi is a workforce development supervisor on our sector initiatives team. Below she tells us about her proudest achievements, and what she enjoys about being a workforce development champion.
What professional moment or project are you most proud of?
I am very proud of a recent accomplishment leading the launch of the new UC San Diego Extended Studies & Google Career Certificates program. This initiative represents a dynamic collaboration with exceptional partners who share our enthusiasm for pioneering innovative approaches to training and job search support for individuals entering the technology field. This initiative was my first leading project at the Workforce Partnership, making it an even more impactful professional achievement. I owe this success to an incredible team that empowered me to create and expand this program to meet job seeker needs. I am excited to see how it will continue to grow!
What do you like best about working in workforce development?
What I enjoy most about working in workforce development is the opportunity to create innovative solutions that benefit our entire community. There is immense reward in identifying a need and then orchestrating collaborative efforts among key partners and employers to devise effective strategies. What makes me motivated to continue this work is knowing that the strategies and programs we create not only directly impact job seekers but also send positive ripples through their families and communities for years to come.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I enjoy spending lots of time with my family, fiancé and two cats. My favorite hobbies right now include hiking through scenic trails, immersing myself in the great outdoors during camping trips, gliding down snow-covered slopes on a snowboard, and losing myself in great books. I love to fill my weekends with adventures and quality time with loved ones. At least once a month, you can find me catching a flight or road tripping to see friends and exploring new places. I am eager to check out Sedona, AZ next!
