Caro is a customer experience specialist on our customer experience team. We asked her about workforce development, her proudest professional accomplishment and what she enjoys doing outside of work.
What professional moment or project are you most proud of?
Here at the San Diego Workforce Partnership, I’m most proud of our launch of Program Match Finder. I have been working on this product since I came on board in 2021, and it’s been so exciting to finally see our months of hard work, collaboration and planning finally come together when it launched in late 2022.
Program Match Finder is an ever-evolving project that I am continuously learning how to improve, adjust and refine, to make it better for our clients and staff.
What do you like best about working in workforce development?
I love the people I get to work with. I know that everyone that works here shares the same mission and vision of what we believe our community can become and I really cherish the opportunity to be part of helping us get there.
Other than my amazing coworkers, I also get so excited seeing people discover their skills, interests and finding ways to pursue them as a career.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I love being outside, especially at the beach or in Joshua Tree National Park. Photography is a huge passion of mine, and I love taking photos for my friends and family or of the night sky. My fiancée and I love spending days exploring the museums at Balboa Park or checking out the San Diego Zoo, where I like to try my hand at getting a good photo of an orangutan or the bear cubs.
I also love music, a good DIY project and I’m always looking for new delicious coffee spots. I’m in at least one LGBTQ+ sports league at any time of the year, but my favorite sports to play right now are kickball and soccer. I’m also a huge fan of our local NWSL team! You might spot me losing my voice from cheering too loud at a Wave FC game.
