What is a typical day like for you?

On event days, I usually stock up my car with Workforce Partnership collateral and swag to give out and display. A typical event can last from anywhere between 4-5 hours. I engage and share information about our programs throughout the event and create new connections with community partners. The conversations I have throughout the day are all with the intent to empower every community member to make that next move toward meeting their career goals, and it is always exciting to be a part of that journey.

What do you like best about working in workforce development?

I thoroughly enjoy being an outreach specialist because I can be out with the community and have the opportunity to have humanistic conversations with job seekers while also providing hope for every community member looking to enter the workforce. I feel the most excited when someone comes to the table, and once they hear about what we offer, their face brightens, and you can see their light shine again, becoming more motivated than before.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

I enjoy spending time with friends and am a big foodie, so finding new food spots throughout San Diego is one of my favorite hobbies. I always look forward to finding new adventures and taking mini road trips along the coast of the Pacific Coast Highway. I also highly endorse self-care, so you can catch me going to the beach or scheduling a spa appointment.
