In 2014, the San Diego Workforce Partnership Research Department analyzed five priority sectors that are vital to the regional economy, experiencing growth and projecting skills shortages: Advanced Manufacturing, Health Care, Clean Energy, Information and Communication Technologies, and Life Sciences.
SDWP’s researchers are currently holding a Priority Sectors Roadshow to promote the findings of this research throughout the County through workshops that cover the key findings for each sector, common themes among sectors and recommendations for the workforce development system. These workshops inform the community on the research and how it can be used in educational systems, work-readiness program design and in working with job seekers.
The Department has already given presentations to San Diego Grantmakers, the San Diego Workforce Funder’s Collaborative and the San Diego Research Council, to name a few.
If you are interested in having the Research Department give the presentation to members of your organization, please contact Kelley Ring at 619-228-2915 or email research@workforce.org.
