The San Diego Workforce Partnership (SDWP) has released its Flip the Script Action Plan outlining the focus areas and concrete steps that need to be taken in San Diego County to address youth disconnection. By carrying out this plan, the community can “cut the rate” and “halve the gap” by 2020.
The plan was informed by over 500 young adults, parents, educators, service providers, funders, businesses, government leaders, elected officials and other stakeholders who attended the Flip the Script Youth Summit in April 2017.
Attendees identified the key issues and opportunities that must be understood and addressed in our shared efforts to reduce youth disconnection from school and work.
The Action Plan will be updated and revisited each year at SDWP’s annual opportunity youth summit. The organization will be tracking progress and sharing updates leading up to the 2018 summit. Follow along at opportunitysd.org where you can read the Action Plan, peruse the research report, see the data and watch videos from the summit. Ready to take action? Sign up to get involved.
