On Tuesday, elected officials and community leaders gathered to promote the rebranding of CONNECT2Careers, a San Diego Workforce Partnership initiative, through a news conference aimed at employers.

In order to have a successful CONNECT2Careers program the San Diego Workforce Partnership needs employers to join the efforts and to provide paid summer internships to motivated young adults that so desperately need work experience.

A big thank you goes to Mayor Bob Filner, Council President Pro Tem SherriLightner, Council President Todd Gloria, Councilmember Kevin Faulconer, Councilmember Marti Emerald, Tony Young-CEO of the Red Cross San Diego, Mark Cafferty- CEO San Diego Regional Economic Development Corp, Phil Blair- CEO of Manpower San Diego and honorary chair for the CONNECT2Careers initiative, and Rebecca Aguilera-Gardiner- Vice President of Diego & Son Printing and Vice Chair of the Workforce Investment Board, for your continued support with this important and life changing program.
