San Diego WIB welcomes new leadershipMarlene Taylor and Becky Quinn have been elected to serve as Chair and Vice Chair of the San Diego Workforce Investment Board for 2015-2016. The WIB, comprised of businesses and various entities representing the San Diego region, oversees funding for workforce development programs. They also work to identify labor and training priorities, ensuring SDWP funded programs meet the needs of local employers.

   

Marlene Taylor is deeply involved in the community and committed to workforce development. As President of Taylor Trim & Supply, she oversees operations, strategic planning, and the overall profit and loss for the business. She also works to ensure that the company is living out their core values, creating a positive and productive environment, and a safe place for employees to work. 

Marlene holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and has over 27 years of experience in the building industry. She also serves on the San Pasqual Academy Employer Advisory Board and the Virtual Enterprise Advisory Committee, where she mentors local high school and college age students and provides internship opportunities through her company. 

Becky Quinn is a Professional Certified Human Resources (PHR) executive with over 20 years of comprehensive human resource experience. She is a woman of many skills, talents and interests–all of which have led her to the career position she holds today with Quality Controlled Manufacturing Inc. (QCMI) as Human Resource Manager. Her leadership embodies the company’s vision to be a world-class organization in customer service, innovation, integrity, workplace growth and the relentless pursuit of continuous improvement. 

Becky has served as Vice President of the San Diego Industry Liaison Group, an organization that helps employers work together to understand and implement EEO and Affirmative Action initiatives. She is also a 15-year member of the National and San Diego Chapter of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and was also a member of the San Diego Recruiter’s Roundtable.
