Craft brewing is among San Diego’s fastest growing industries, according to a report by the National University System Institute for Policy Research (NUSIPR).
In 2011, craft breweries and brew pubs generated a direct economic impact of $299.5 million in San Diego County, which is more than 1.5 times greater than Comic-Con International, the largest convention held in San Diego each summer.
The total number of craft breweries in the region more than doubled since 2011, generating $680.8 million in sales. This industry alone represents 2,796 jobs for San Diego and continues to grow with each new enterprise.
