On November 3, Live Well San Diego brought together partners and stakeholders to advance its shared vision of a healthy, safe and thriving San Diego region at the Live Well San Diego Advance event.

Representatives from every sector and County government leaders attended to network, learn about new tools and best practices and participate in breakout sessions. Program tracks included supporting healthy, safe and thriving children; engaging businesses and leveraging human capital; building trauma-informed, resilient communities; and using data to inform policy decisions.

Andy Hall, Vice President and Chief Program Officer, spoke on a panel titled “In the Business of Partnership: Engaging Business and Leveraging Human Capital.” The panel and subsequent facilitated table discussions, discussed how we can better serve priority populations such as veterans, immigrants and foster youth, and connect them to workforce opportunities. Andy emphasized that we close the gap between open jobs and job seekers by understanding their needs and skills gaps. He said, “we must close the awareness gap of what career opportunities exist.”
