The CONNECT2Careers San Diego (C2C-SD) team is in full sprint to secure summer placements! Due to the recent outreach from our local media and community partners, the phone lines are ringing with potential applicants and businesses interested in hiring a summer intern.
Good news:
- Over 30 local businesses have shown great interest in providing meaningful work experiences this summer! The C2C-SD staff are securing placements within these companies for the perfect summer experience and are actively recruiting other businesses to join the effort.
- The City of San Diego’s Council President Pro Tem Sherri Lightner, Mayor Bob Filner and the entire City Council continue to propel this initiative forward with their leadership and commitment to C2C-SD. Also, BIOCOM, CleanTECH San Diego, CONNECT, Manpower and the San Diego Regional EDC continue to step up to the plate to engage our business community. Without the support from these San Diego business leaders C2C-SD would not be possible.
- Diego and Son Printing, a well-established family owned small business in the Logan Heights community, has once again committed to the initiative by bringing aboard a paid intern this summer! They have participated in the summer jobs projects in the past and continuously see how it benefits the community, local businesses and young adults in San Diego.
