A recent addition to the San Diego skyline is the beautiful dome of the new central public library. The downtown library, which is expected to open in September, is the culmination of decades of planning and fundraising. With 1.1 million books, a charter school, computer labs, and a top floor banquet hall, the new library will be a great resource for the city.

In addition to its numerous amenities, the Central San Diego Library will also be home to the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Career Center. Maxine Suka, photographed in the new space mentions, “The San Diego Metro Region Career Centers, operated by the KRA corporation, is excited for the new satellite office, located on the 5th floor of the new Central San Diego Library in downtown San Diego. We have been involved in the planning phases and took numerous tours of the building while it was under construction so that we could envision how our workforce development services would benefit the community. The center is more than 75% completed and all of the necessary partnering organizations are preparing to move in. We are thrilled to be serving the community in the downtown area opening September 2013.”

The Bank of America Merrill Lynch Career Center will employ five full-time career support specialists that will lead seminars, meet individually with job seekers, and provide general career support.

The San Diego Workforce Partnership is thrilled to see the creation of a centrally located career center. With nearby access to mass transportation, the site will be able to serve a variety of job seekers and provide them with vital skills that will prepare them for joining San Diego’s workforce!
