Subject: Lower Living Standard Income Level (LLSIL) and Poverty Guidelines: 70 Percent LLSIL and Poverty Guidelines for 2022
Purpose:
The purpose of this operations issuance is to notify Workforce Partnership subrecipients of the changes to the Operations Manual: Chapter 7. Part 1: WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker Eligibility Methods for Calculating Income/Family Size Determination (SDWP) 70 percent Low -Income Guidelines for employed adults in Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
Updates to the chapter and attachments were made to align with Workforce Services Draft Directive 70 Percent LLSIL Poverty Guidelines for 2022 (WSDD-229)
Below is a summary of updates.
Staff should review the referenced the attachments for detail. This policy provides the guidance and establishes the procedures regarding the 70 Percent Lower Living Standard Income Level (LLSIL) for 2022 published by the US Department of Labor (DOL) in the Federal Register on April 6, 2022. This policy also issues the 2022 poverty guidelines published by the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in the Federal Register on January 21, 2022. This policy applies to all Local Work force Development Areas (Local Area) and is effective on their dates of publication in the Federal Register, April 6, 2022, and January 21, 2022, respectively.
Action:
Notify all affected staff of the changes to the LLSIL and poverty guidelines in this Directive.
Effective November 14, 2022, Chapter 7. Part 1: WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker Eligibility, 2022, all Subrecipients are required to follow the guidelines outlined in the updated Chapter and attachments.
