Interested in a construction or building career but not sure where to start? 

The Apprenticeship Readiness Program will give you an opportunity to explore the various options available while also providing you with the skills needed to get started in a construction career. The program utilizes the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3) which provides an overview of what each trade does, and the qualifications and skills needed. This program offers you an introduction to the tools of the trades, builds up your math skills, helps you learn about how to work safely and more.

This no cost program will prepare you for: 

  • Construction industry orientation 
  • Tool identification and use 
  • Construction health and safety
    • CPR/BLS Certification 
    • OSHA Certification
  • Construction-related math
  • Blueprint reading 
  • Green construction  

Additional services include:

  • Participants may be eligible to earn a stipend while completing the program
  • Assistance with networking and applying for jobs in your field of interest
  • Participants who are parents or legal guardians of children under the age of 18 may be eligible to receive financial assistance with childcare costs while enrolled in the program

Who It's For

  • Ages 17+*
  • Eligible to work in the US 
  • Lives in San Diego or Imperial County
  • Proficiency in digital literacy preferred

*Applicants under the age of 18 will be considered on a case-by-case basis and will require a “Consent to Release Form” to be completed prior to enrollment by a parent/legal guardian.

  • Learning new job skills
