Collaborating to Distribute Funds
in the Region

Our funding is directed by a series of Boards and Committees that are comprised of individuals from our region’s businesses, educational institutions, labor unions, industry associations and community-based organizations. All funding decision are approved through this system.

Our governance includes the Consortium Policy Board, Workforce Investment Board, and our Corporate Board. Each is committed to ensuring a strong network of programs and services that empower San Diego County job seekers while engaging the business community to meet their hiring needs.  Our boards are mandated under the Workforce Investment Act to ensure that our workforce meets the economic needs of our region.

Consortium Policy Board – Determines the focus and final approval of funding initiatives and policy.

Workforce Investment Board – Makes funding recommendations to the Policy Board after carefully vetting proposals made by our Workforce Advancement Committee (adult programs) and Youth Council (youth programs).

Corporate Board of Directors – Provides guidance related to operations, including leases, budget, and our annual audit.

Stewardship

Our priority is to distribute funds throughout our region in the most accountable, effective, and transparent manner.
