In 2017, our first opportunity youth report identified that 80% of young adults ages 1624 who are not working or in school have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.

0318179200031This statistic spurred us and our partners in education to take action to ensure graduates were not slipping through the cracks. Since 2018, we have collaborated with school districts across the county to bring job readiness training and career opportunities directly to students on campus.

We know that the road from graduation to a quality job is not easy. Together, we can intervene early to provide students with the knowledge, opportunities and social networks they need to find career success.

The Workforce Partnership on Campus provides career exploration opportunities and job search assistance to San Diego County students through collaborative partnerships with school districts. Each program is tailored to meet the needs and objectives of the districts. Services include:

  • Career exploration workshops
  • Career readiness workshops
  • On-site and remote job coaching sessions
  • Internship and job development

Current partners:

  • Vista Unified School District
  • San Diego Unified School District

“Working with the job coach was the best thing ever! As someone struggling to find a job, the job coach found a great fit immediately. It was hard finding a job that fit my set of skills and with the job coach, I gave [them] my skills and [they] found a job that fit my skill set. The resume assistance was definitely a big help to get a professional looking resume. I would highly recommend using your services.”
