The Workforce Partnership on Campus
In 2017, our first opportunity youth report identified that 80% of young adults ages 16–24 who are not working or in school have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
This statistic spurred us and our partners in education to take action to ensure graduates were not slipping through the cracks. Since 2018, we have collaborated with school districts across the county to bring job readiness training and career opportunities directly to students on campus.
We know that the road from graduation to a quality job is not easy. Together, we can intervene early to provide students with the knowledge, opportunities and social networks they need to find career success.
The Workforce Partnership on Campus provides career exploration opportunities and job search assistance to San Diego County students through collaborative partnerships with school districts. Each program is tailored to meet the needs and objectives of the districts. Services include:
- Career exploration workshops
- Career readiness workshops
- On-site and remote job coaching sessions
- Internship and job development
- Vista Unified School District
- San Diego Unified School District
