COVID-19 has had an enormous impact on the economy; in the first week of mandated social distancing, Californians submitted more unemployment claims than any previous week on record. In this report we identify the occupations most at risk in the short term and the factors that will influence regional unemployment in the long term. We also highlight the support that the Workforce Partnership is providing to laid-off workers and struggling businesses.
