Mentorships with the City of San Diego
Mentees will participate in four weeks of part-time work-readiness training with Connect2Careers, after which they will be assessed for transit pass assistance and provided professional clothing through a partnership with the Gap Foundation. After training, mentees will join a City of San Diego employee for a 150-hour mentorship experience—typically over the course of 5-10 weeks.
School Break Externships
Want to use your school breaks to get paid? Externships are available for high school and college students ages 16-24. These paid, short-term work experiences take place during your winter and spring breaks and help you get the experience needed to land great jobs and start a career. Externs are partnered with top employers all over San Diego County.
Career Launch Academy
The Career Launch Academy at Hyatt is a career exploration opportunity that will help you get started in the world of hospitality. Participants will learn customer service skills at an on-site training at one of two locations. After successful completion of the one-day training and a Hyatt employment application, participants receive a guaranteed interview with Hyatt for a food & beverage, room attendant or culinary position. The Hyatt team will select and hire qualified individuals for open positions.
