Subject: Operations Manual Update: Chapter 7. Part 2: WIOA Youth Eligibility & Attachments
Purpose:
The purpose of this issuance is to notify SDWP Subrecipients of revisions and/or additions to the following policies: Chapter 7: Part 2: WIOA Youth Eligibility.
Significant changes have been made to the above chapter and attachments including but not limited to:
- Policy Updates/Clarifications:
- Collection of Medical Information and Documentation
- If using “youth with a disability” or another medical barrier, both must be selected on the ECRF and CalJOBS. The ECRF will then be kept in a separate file with an appropriate case note.
- 5% Eligbility Exception Update
- 5% eligibility exception does not include carry-in youth
- Policy update to re-enrollment
- Youth in follow-up are eligibile for re-enrollment, but must be approved by SDWP Program Specialist
- Co-Enrollment and Dual-Enrollment Definitions and refrences to Chapter 4: Part 2.
- Record Retention Policy
- Multimedia & Communications Release Form Case Note
- Collection of Medical Information and Documentation
- The following attachments were updated:
- Methods for Calculating Income
- 2018 LLSIL
- Lives in a Barrier Area
- Universal Participation and Agreement Form (UPAF)
- Methods for Calculating Income
Action:
Effective October 1, 2018 all Subrecipients are required to follow the guidelines outlined in the updated Chapter and new/updated attachments. This issuance replaces and supersedes the chapter and attachments. If you have any questions regarding this issuance, please contact your Contract Administrator at (619) 228-2900.
