Myriam Sanchez is a business partnerships specialist at the San Diego Workforce Partnership. Here she tells a little bit about herself, both personally and professionally.
What professional moment or project are you most proud of?
I’m working on my own social impact startup called Trips4Change. My vision is to break the cycle of poverty in Central America by creating economic opportunities through education and workforce development.
I have a passion for innovation and I believe innovative learning opportunities for children and youth who don’t have access to education are fundamental. I already have a prototype and I am currently discussing partnerships.
What do you like best about working in workforce development?
Through my job as a business partnerships specialist at the Workforce Partnership, I have been able to create a well-connected professional network that has allowed me to easily match people and resources in every sector. Not only has my network allowed me to become a trusted advisor, it has also been a source of inspiration and connection. I really enjoy sharing time with like-minded and like-hearted individuals—people who are always driven and sparking new ideas.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
Investing time in developing my startup Trips4Change, attending tech and entrepreneurship events, traveling, practicing Tae Kwon Do, dancing, learning new languages along with violin and Javascript. I also volunteer with Fōkcus startup mentoring and San Diego Startup Week.
