Haley Stayton is a program analyst at the San Diego Workforce Partnership. Here she tells us a little about herself, both personally and professionally.
How has your work changed during the pandemic?
Let’s just say that I am still adjusting but every day feels better! Navigating working from home with a five-year-old starting kindergarten has been interesting to say the least. I am extremely grateful for family, health, technology and the support provided by my awesome team and supervisor. Our services are virtual and I don’t get to see my colleagues in person but the work feels more important than ever and I have confidence that we will continue to adapt as we push through this.
What professional moment or project are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the Expanded Subsidized Employment (ESE) program. The program provides services to CalWORKs families and employers throughout San Diego County. I’ve been working on the project for about 5 years and it has been incredibly amazing to see it evolve and sustain over time. The ESE team is talented and passionate. It is a great pleasure to work alongside them every day.
What do you like best about working in workforce development?
The people and the collaboration! I love seeing the thoughtfulness and creativity that so many of my peers put into their projects. Each of my colleagues have their own unique strengths and I appreciate how we take the time to celebrate those strengths and learn from one another.
