What is a typical day like for you?

I enjoy working out of my site; it’s a collaborative environment where we all work together to ensure our clients receive the best possible support. A significant part of my day involves conducting intake interviews with new clients. During these interviews, I assess their current employment situation, educational background, skill sets and any barriers they might be facing in securing employment.

I often connect clients with programs, training services, workshops and other resources that can enhance their employability. I focus on creating a realistic and achievable path that considers the client’s unique circumstances.

If you had $30,000 to donate to a workforce development program, what would you want done with it?

If I had $30,0000 to donate to a workforce development program, I would route it to a career coaching mentorship program. The program would pair participants with experienced professionals, peers, and other clients in their desired fields, providing them guidance, networking opportunities and the encouragement needed to navigate the job market.

This type of coaching can also help individuals build soft skills, such as resume writing, interviewing and workplace communication.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

My typical day not working is a mix of being in nature, listening to music and social time that keeps me energized and balanced. I spend some peaceful time watering and caring for my plants—it’s a great way to connect with nature and ground yourself in a fast-paced world.

I usually hit a nearby trail for a hike or enjoy our beautiful San Diego beaches, which is another great way to clear my head and get in some fresh air. I also enjoy meeting with friends at local businesses, where we hang out and plan our next music festival outing.
