FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SAN DIEGO, CA — The San Diego Workforce Partnership funds and oversees a career center network throughout San Diego County. Funding for these centers is from the US Department of Labor. The Workforce Partnership has a diverse portfolio of funders and investors who support our various programs and initiatives: The City of San Diego, the County of San Diego, the private sector and philanthropy. Last year, we provided more than 106,000 workforce development services to San Diego County residents.

“We are all very committed to continuing to provide high quality and diverse services to our region’s many job seekers and employers during this uncertain time. And, we urge our elected leaders to resolve their differences and refocus on services that benefit our many neighbors who are working hard to rejoin the workforce and advance their career,” said Workforce Partnership CEO Peter Callstrom.

During the government shutdown, the career centers will remain open—as will all services provided by the Workforce Partnership. Funding for these centers is yet unaffected by the shutdown. As the shutdown is a dynamic situation with an unknown outcome, we will inform the public if/when there are any changes. We will post updates on our site: workforce.org/news
