Career centers offer job search and career development resources to all San Diego County job seekers, regardless of income or background. There are multiple locations across the county, including one in the Central Library at Joan ꓥ Irwin Jacobs Common in Downtown San Diego.

Libraries 

Check out Job Start @ the Library for many no cost job search resources. 

The San Diego Public Library’s Career Online High School (COHS) offers adults the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma and career certificate online. Once enrolled in the program, COHS pairs each student with an online academic coach, who provides the student with an individual career path, offers ongoing guidance, evaluates performance and connects the student with the resources needed to master the courses. Students will be given up to 18 months to complete the program.

With so much of job searching taking place online, the library offers free computers with Internet access and free Wi-Fi to assist you.  

There are currently 10 locations with outdoor computer labs and 14 locations where mobile hotspots are available for checkout.

: Business and Careers  

Gale Courses
Gale Courses offers a wide range of highly interactive, instructor led courses that you can take entirely online. Online courses start every month and run for six weeks. 

Peterson’s Test and Career Prep 

Prepare for tests, download test handbooks, plan for higher education, explore career paths, build a resume, and access job interview tips.
