The San Diego Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities presents the quarterly Disability Training Committee for Employers, Human Resources Professionals, and Hiring Managers. The event is a free training offered around the different topics related to hiring and employing people with disabilities. Our goal is to reduce the stigma, provide additional opportunities for people in our communities, connect employers with skilled job seekers, and provide free training to employers to gain access to information and resources in the community.
This event will feature a representative from the State Council on Disability to discuss The Employment First Initiative, the State-Wide drive to hire and integrate people with disabilities into our communities and workplaces, a representative from The San Diego Regional Center to discuss free incentives for hiring under the Paid Internship Program. In addition a representative from the local Vocational Rehabilitation (Department of Rehabilitation) to discuss incentives offered to employers for hiring clients from their agency through their On the Job Training funds.
