CalFresh benefits provide money on a debit-like card that can be used at grocery stores and farmer’s markets.

How does CalFresh Work?

When you receive CalFresh benefits, you will get an account and a debit card called an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card. Each month, your CalFresh benefits are automatically loaded into your account. You can use your EBT card at most major grocery stores, convenience stores, markets and some farmer’s markets.

Local participating grocery stores include, but are not limited to: Costco, Albertsons, Vons, Sprouts, Trader Joe’s, North Gate, Safeway and Food 4 Less.

Find an authorized CalFresh retailer near you. Enter a starting location such as a city and state, zip code or a full address. Position your cursor over a map point or use the list of locations for details.
