Primary Factors Impacting Our Workforce

Thousands of people make up San Diego’s workforce. We see them every day. They are the committed individuals paid to do a job that makes our region thrive.

Together our workforce ensures that needs of every person is met. In every industry – from research to railroads to retail – our workforce makes our lives better. The health of our region depends on it.

Our workforce is always changing. How it evolves is based on a number of factors. Together, the latest economic, demographic, legislative, technological and environmental developments of our region create changes to our workforce. They impact our needs, our jobs, our skills, and our ability to take on new opportunities. At the same time, as our workforce changes and grows, so do the factors themselves, creating an ongoing cycle of change and evolution for San Diego.

At the Workforce Partnership, our goal is to make the workforce ever stronger. That’s why we fund partners committed to training and placing those who are ready to join it.
