Our Funding at Work

Our Annual Budget

Stewardship of funds is our highest priority. Our budget reflects our commitment to building our regional workforce with integrity and transparency. Workforce Partnership funding comes primarily from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) via the Workforce Investment Act. Expenses fall into three major categories: central operations, direct program support and programs/contracts.

The majority of the funds go to contracts with various service providers (i.e., public and private agencies, local businesses and educational institutions) who serve job seekers throughout our region.

As the funder, we support many entities in working together toward a robust and diverse workforce. Our collaborations reflect our commitment to finding innovative ways to enhance the San Diego region through strategic business partnerships, now and into the future.

Funding Philosophy

The San Diego Workforce Partnership’s funding philosophy emphasizes an understanding of regional workforce needs to ensure the funding of the most relevant and effective job training programs.
