September has been named Workforce Development Month in the County and City of San Diego. The San Diego Workforce Partnership will receive proclamations by the City Council and County Board of Supervisors recognizing its leadership in workforce development and providing work-readiness training to San Diegans for 40 years.
The County Board of Supervisors proclamation will be Tuesday, Sept. 16, and the City Council proclamation will be Tuesday, Sept. 23.

By working together we can ensure workers of all ages, particularly our future workforce, have the ability to find meaningful employment here in America’s Finest City.”
In addition to the local recognition, September has been designated National Workforce Development Month as part of a national campaign led by the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP), an organization that advocates for the workforce industry. National Workforce Development Month honors the professionals who play a vital role in meeting the needs of local employers and job seekers, and promotes the value of workforce development in contributing to the nation’s economy.
