Corinne Rowin is a Program Specialist on the CONNECT2Careers team at the San Diego Workforce Partnership. Here she describes a professional moment she’s proud of, discusses what she likes best about working in workforce development and shares what she enjoys doing outside of the office.

What professional moment or project are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of getting to be a part of the CSBG Externship program. I really enjoyed interacting with the youth. For a lot of them, it was their first paid work experience and it was awesome to get to see them experience that. I also really enjoyed getting to work on setting up the different events throughout the program.

What do you like best about working in workforce development?

I really enjoy getting to help people that are in need of assistance and making their day a little bit brighter. I also enjoy the unpredictability of working on a program like CONNECT2Careers because our day to day workload is constantly changing and we are always finding new projects to take on. The team we have here is pretty amazing. We are very diverse and get along well and we all have the same goal of helping people make their lives better each day.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my three-year-old son and watching him learn new things each day.
