San Diego Futures Foundation (SDFF) offers Digital Literacy Traininga new, innovative program in partnership with Fab Lab San Diego and ReCenterfunded by the San Diego Workforce Partnership.

FREE scholarships are available for eligible out-of-school youth, ages 18 – 21, who live in the San Diego Metro and Mid-City regions. Digital Literacy Training provides educational services, work readiness training, work preparation, work-based opportunities with accessible experiences in production and creativity, and youth personal development services.

SDFF trains youth in the most commonly recognized certification in digital literacy, IC3 (Internet and Computing Core Certification). IC3 validates critical computer and Internet skills needed in today’s academic and professional environments, measuring skills not only for success in the 21st century classroom, but also for higher education, employment, and life.

How do you qualify?

Digital Literacy Training will assist persons with documented:

(1) learning disabilities, such as processing disorders related to one or more of the following: language and reading, arithmetic and mathematics, writing, motor coordination, memory, non-verbal learning, visual perception, or spoken language; and/or

(2) disabilities that may not be apparent upon casual observation: specific learning disabilities (SLD), attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), attention deficit disorder (ADD), mental health or emotional problems (such as depression, anxiety disorders, or conduct disorders), Epilepsy, and traumatic brain injuries (TBI).
