Harvard Business School Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit ManagementSDWP CEO Peter Callstrom participated in a selective one-week Harvard Business School (HBS) social enterprise program, where nonprofit leaders explore myriad leadership examples and strategies, and the characteristics of high-performing organizations. The program aims to inspire, educate, and support leaders who make a difference in the world, tailored to nonprofit executive directors and CEOs with a diverse mix of 160 nonprofit leaders from 20 countries.

Past San Diego participants include Second Chance’s Robert Coleman, Reality Changers’ Chris Yanov, and 2-1-1 San Diego’s John Ohanian.

This year’s other local participants were Simona Valanciute, CEO of San Diego OASIS and Torrie Dunlap, CEO of Kids Included Together.

The group studied 25 unique cases and met in small groups to discuss how to apply learnings to their organizations. The HBS program is led by world-renowned faculty that includes authors and lecturers with first-hand knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities in the nonprofit sector.

“It was a phenomenal experience and learning opportunity,” Peter stated. “The remarkable insights, the great colleagues, and the wonderful faculty made this unforgettable. I am deeply grateful to the Harvard Business School Club of San Diego for the opportunity to participate.”
