New members joined the San Diego Regional Consortium Policy Board as of the first meeting in February, including San Diego County Supervisor Kristin Gaspar and City of San Diego Councilmember Barbara Bry.
Gaspar was elected to the District 3 seat of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors in the most recent election. She has experience with small business, and was previously elected to the Encinitas City Council in 2010 and became the city’s first elected mayor in 2014.
Bry, a former reporter covering economics, housing and government and a tech entrepreneur, was elected to the District 1 seat.
On the board, Gaspar and Bry replaced former San Diego County Board of Supervisor Dave Roberts, and Myrtle Cole, San Diego City Council President, District 4, respectively.
Former Vice Chair Scott Sherman, San Diego City Councilmember for District 7, became the chair of the policy board, with Gaspar serving as vice chair.
Other members of the board include Dr. Laurie Coskey, President, Chief Executive Officer of United Way of San Diego County, and Ron Roberts, County Supervisor of the County of San Diego.
