SDWP hosted a delegation from Greece who traveled to the U.S. under the auspices of the Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). The four delegates met with SDWP CEO Peter Callstrom and Maxine Suka, Program Manager at San Diego Metro Region Career Centers, to learn about the public-private partnerships that lead to young adult job placement—particularly what services are offered to laid-off or affected employees within the America’s Job Centers of California network.
The visitors were brought to San Diego by the San Diego
Diplomacy Council in conjunction with the IVLP, the premier professional exchange program of the U.S. Department of State. Through short-term visits to the U.S., current and emerging foreign leaders in a variety of fields experience this country firsthand and cultivate lasting relationships with their American counterparts.
