The San Diego Workforce Partnership recently partnered with Google to offer a pilot curriculum that will teach adult learners how to use the G Suite applications to prepare for an evolving job market.

The Applied Digital Skills course is a self-paced, web-based course designed for continuing education students, 18 years and older. The coursework covers Google’s free, online G Suite applications and is geared toward adult learners interested in learning critical digital literacy skills needed in today’s work environment. Students learn to use online tools to manage real-world projects and decisions.

The Pilot Course topic was “Plan an Event,” where students learned how to use G Suite applications to choose, plan and organize an event. The course was held at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Career Center at the San Diego Central Library in downtown and at the North County Coastal Career Center in Oceanside.

“We were thrilled to partner with San Diego Workforce Partnership to bring the Applied Digital Skills pilot course to San Diegans. We look forward to continuing this relationship as we develop additional course content and make it more widely available,” says Carrie D’Ascoli, Google San Diego Program Manager.
