Earlier this week, San Diego Workforce Partnership CEO Peter Callstrom joined a bi-partisan delegation of more than 100 business, community and elected leaders on an advocacy trip to Washington D.C. SDWP Policy Board Chair and County Supervisor, Ron Roberts, and Policy Board Vice Chair, Myrtle Cole, were two of our elected leaders in attendance.

Led by the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, the delegation focused on informing key decision-makers about issues impacting our regional economy. Key topics included our border, housing, water, transportation, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), education, veterans’ affairs, homelessness and workforce issues.

“It is an honor to join this tremendous group of regional leaders as we advocate for positive change and impact in our mega-region,” Callstrom said. “Kudos to Chamber CEO Jerry Sanders, and his great staff for coordinating this outstanding campaign. The benefit of this delegation to our region is invaluable. Legislators and policy makers repeatedly stated how much they valued the direct contact and clarity of message. We look forward to continuing this outreach. The benefit to our region is directly linked to this broad-based and diverse delegation.”
