Learning
One of our core values is lifelong learning. We base our funding on extensive and ongoing research of regional employment data, economic activity, industry cluster analysis, and occupational projections. Our team of experts uncovers the needs of the current workforce to ensure that the programs we fund have maximum benefit to businesses and workers alike.
Service
Our commitment to learning builds the framework for the programs we fund. We support initiatives focused on career development and transition, understanding local business’ workforce needs, and placing at-risk youth in summer jobs or internships. Our funded partners serve San Diego’s workforce with strategic training programs targeted to aid job seekers and, ultimately, employers. Through the use of research studies and community forums we help employers make better human resources decisions, enable individuals to select appropriate career paths, and ensure training providers develop curricula in tune with today’s industry needs.
Stewardship
Every program we fund is approved through a strategic system of boards and committees comprised of individuals from some of San Diego’s most successful businesses, educational institutions, labor unions, industry associations and community-based organizations. In today’s economic climate we know that every dollar we allocate matters.
